Dear Artist-Blacksmith
Tubac Center of the Arts is a non-profit organization and we have been in existence since 1973 in a beautiful, rural area of southern Arizona called Tubac. We have a membership of approximately 800 with over half of our members being artists from throughout the country. We have 8-12 exhibitions a season (Sept. through May, our busy tourist season), several of which are open, juried exhibitions.
The prospectus I have attached to this email is for an open, juried exhibition October 17 through November 16, The Forge and the Press. We are interested in metal artwork and printmaking of all methods. The details are provided in the attached prospectus as well as an introduction to the juror and a listing of the cash awards.
We would be delighted if you would put this call to artists on your website or pass it along to your membership.
www.tubacarts.org and download an entry that can be found in the For Artists section, filled out and mailed.
They can also visit our new Events website (still in the construction stage) at www.tubacartcenter.org and enter the exhibition
on line from our Exhibitions section.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me or give me a call.
Thank you.

Blacksmithing Job Wanted
My Name is Reiner peregrine Metalworker. I am a trained Metalworker on my traditional three-year journey. I started my journey, an age-old tradition, to learn my profession, and to see and evaluate work practices and cultures in other countries. My end goal is to improve my knowledge about blacksmithing and enhance my ability to understand and embrace the way of life of other countries. I am required to remain at least 50 kilometers (30 miles) from home during my journey.
I kindly request anyone, particularly all blacksmith professionals, master craftsmen, civil authorities and other guilds, to assist me in acquiring the visas necessary to continue my training in the United States. The proper visa would allow me to remain longer than three months and comply with US law. As a tradesman, I am bound and obligated to behave in an honest and respectable manner everywhere I go. I have worked in several smithies in Europe and would like the opportunity to work with American Blacksmithing organizations.
I appreciate any assistance you or your organization may provide.

P.S.:Please they look at the letter over me from my uncle. It has to write me helped this letter!
Reiner Windschiegl (the pregrine Metalworker),my nephew, is a trained metalworker in the third year of his traditional three-year journey. He is an industrious, highly-motivated, hard working young man who voluntarily accepted the limitations and requirements imposed upon him.
I ask you for your support in helping him continue on this age-old tradition as he becomes a true master in the Blacksmith trade. My uncle, Fr. Paul Gluth, West Long Branch, New Jersey, was a registered blacksmith. He enjoyed the distinction of being the only Priest in registered your trade. He thoroughly enjoyed his time on the pulpit and anvil equally until his death in 1987. He had a rare left-handed anvil which I commissioned for him in Munich in the early 1980’s.
If you have any questions, please contact me. I am a native English-speaker living in Germany supporting the US Army as a federal employee. My family stands ready to assist in any means possible.
Sincerely,
Michael Gluth
